Description

The stamp in this lot is an example of the 1 cent Franklin definitive (regular issue) stamp of 1903, Scott catalog # 300. It is one of the most common early 20th century U.S. postage stamps. Billions were printed and used. Some sellers on Ebay are offering examples of this stamp at absurd prices, some as high as hundreds of dollars. These people are either totally ignorant of stamp values or crooks or both. The real retail value of these stamps in used condition is one penny, thus that is the opening bid here. But if someone is really foolish enough to believe that this stamp is worth hundreds of dollars, I've added a buy-it-now option of a mere $20. How can you pass up such a bargain???
