Description

The stamp in this lot is an example of the 1923 2 cent Washington regular issue postage stamp, Scott # 554. It is NOT a rare stamp. Hundreds and hundreds of millions were printed and used as it paid the basic 2 cent postage rate on first class letters for about a decade. Ebay sellers who are either astonishingly ignorant about stamps or dishonest (or both) are offering examples of this stamp at absurd prices. Don't be taken in by these idiots. The stamp is worth about a penny which is the opening bid. But if any of the aforesaid idiots really believe that examples of this stamp are worth often hundreds of dollars, then just for you I've added a buy-it-now option for $25. Put your money where your mouth is.
