Rare, how in the world are you supposed to know if something is actually RARE or SCARCE or UNIQUE or HARD TO FIND? How about, why can't I figure it out using the vast world wide web??!!?!?! So when I went to list this cute Commemorative post card of George Washington, I searched to see if there were any similar to it on ebay. Well, while typing in the search an option dropped down, George Washington 1 cent stamp on postcard. Okay, this one has a Green George Washington 1 cent stamp on it, I'll choose that search option. Then a rabbit hole.... At least this time I did not spend two hours researching the possibility that my card with this particular 1 cent stamp on it was, well, RARE!!!!! HARD TO FIND!!!!! SCARCE!!!!! and WORTH JILLIONS!!!!!!. I still have no idea. I just liked the idea that this is a cute postcard commemorating George Washington's birthday and it is written to some young girl in Atlanta who apparently has ponies and her cousin Edith is writing to tell her she wants to come visit her. And, now the fact that it might be RARE...is giving me fits! So, I do know that it is on a Franz Huld Company, NY postcard. The postcard is not in pristine condition, but given that it has the green stamp on it, that may not matter. It was posted from Jefferson, GA or maybe it's Canada or California on February 18, 1913 and was addressed to Miss Elizebeth Hudson, Atlanta, Ga. That may be the reason it is in not pristine condition. The Postal worker had to go to every house in the city to find Miss Elizebeth and at some point he may have had to use it to wipe his brow. Okay, there seems to be some faint writing near the bottom that may be a hint given to the Postal worker so he had a better idea of where to go to find her in a town of 155k people. I will start it at a maybe sorta might be reasonable bid and hope that it soars! Or, at least that it sells. Tell your Philatelist friends! And, thanks for looking at my items!
